A Confession

On my desk next to my computer sits this radio. I use it everyday. Not for music, not for news, not for intelligent programming on NPR, but to listen to Howard Stern. Yes, I admit it. I like Howard Stern. I know what you are probably thinking...he's so crass and degrading to woman. I used to think that myself, until I actually started listening to him. His show is fun, witty and totally entertaining. He touches on all kinds of topics and has actually opened my eyes to a lot of political stuff. I don't take the show seriously, it is entertainment after all. While I could skip the stripper antics, I find the frank honesty of Howard and the other personalities on the show to be a great change of pace. It's fun to know that someone's words can put a smile on my face, because let's face it, we could all stand to have a good laugh at least once a day!

Pearls

There is just something about pearls that I love. They are simple and classic. There is not a thing that doesn't go with pearls. Brian's mother gave me pearl stud earrings years ago. I wore them all the time. I rarely took them out. Loved those earrings - I even wore them on my wedding day. Well, unfortunately I began having problems with the post falling off the pearl. I'm not sure if it kept happing to the same one or not, but I kept fixing it, then it would break. I was scared of wearing them for fear they would break and I would lose the pearl. While I was in Cincy, Catherine convinced me that I had to get new ones. She is such a fun person to shop with, so I agreed to go look. Well she has luck like no one I know, because of course the pearl jewelery in the store we were in had them on sale. Well, I should say that it was my luck, but I only seem to have this good luck when I am with her, so I claim it's her luck! No matter, I got these HUGE gorgeous pearls for only 40 bucks! They are a bit bigger than my other studs and at first it was shocking to me. Now I always smile when I notice them. Beautiful.
