First Snow of the Winter

Our first real snow of the winter was a big one. I was lucky enough to be driving home from work as the snow came pouring down making it impossible to see more than a few yards in front of you. It was also lighting at the same time, which was a new experience for me. I was a bit frightened. I was never more thankful to have four-wheel drive and new tires on my car.

When I finally reached home I was treated to the fresh, white snow, everywhere! I love new snow. It's so beautiful, and seems to muffle all the sound so that everything is so peaceful. The crabapple tree in the front yard had a beautiful look of red berries and snow. Can't wait for it to get bigger. Our front door looks like a Christmas card with the red door and snow covered wreath. Really puts me in the mood for Christmas.
